This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it... This simple song reminds me truly of God's omnipotence, omnipresence, and benevolence. As he already counted the days of our life, He made each day so special that we may rejoice and be glad in it. We can and should be glad not because everyday is so easy for us to live in, but because He is the Lord of the day. His governance of the day is enough assurance for us that He is always there by our side even at the lowest point of our life.

But human is human. Everywhere we go we will find people grumbled almost about everything. About all the problems that occur or anticipated to occur on that day. We seldom hear words of thanksgiving that the Lord actually has made them the day as another opportunity to live a better life. This is not only true for the non-believers but also to the many believers. We tend to see all the negative things of the day and almost blind to see the truth that the day itself is already a blessing to each of us.
Though there are many difficulties in life, I always consider myself not as a lucky, but as a blessed person. The list is too long for me to write them all down here. But among the many blessings that I've received from the Lord is my lovely wife. We both know that she is not a perfect woman, and so do I as a man, but she is no doubt my perfect match; a suitable helper God has made for me.
Today is my wife's birthday. It has been a routine for me to give her present on her birthday, and no exception for this year. She has been there in my best and in my worst. I know it's not easy for her to be my 'helper' with all my weaknesses and failure to recognize all her sacrifices and faithfulness. So, I regard it as one of those right days to give her something as a token of appreciation. But more than that I want her to know that I love her so much as I love myself.

While I was sleeping, he took one of my ribs, from it created my suitable helper, and at His appointed time, brought her to me. When I woke up, the First Man's voices echoed into my ears, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man." (Genesis 2: 23)
